2v2 flying changes

Flying changes is a great end-of-practice activity or a way to motivate the players when a session is dragging. The game demonstrated here is 2v2 but could be played 3v3 or even 4v4. You’ll need to be careful that it doesn’t turn into a dribbling adventure, limiting touches and/or passes can force the issue. Allowing the goalies to shoot can get them more involved.

Description

Players go 2v2 with GKs in grid. Remaing players wait on posts. When a goal is scored, or shot crosses end line, defenders leave field, two new attackers enter with a ball.

Coaching Points

On entry look to quickly shoot. As attackers, look for shooting windows. Off ball, look for opening and be ready to shoot. As defenders make play predicable.

Progression

Limit touches, passes, time limit. Allow GKs to score
