Session plan
Notes
The focus of this session is breaking opposition lines - playaing the ball through groupings of opposition players to one or more teammates behind the grouping. A common example is playing from the back through the midfield or from the midfield to forwards. An important coaching point is the utilization of scanning as a prerequisite to determining options both on and off the ball. On-ball, we are asking our players to recognize opportunities to play through a group of opponents to a teammate in an advanced position. Off-ball, we are asking players to identify pockets of space between defenders and the ball and to time their movements into those pockets.
