Scott Schoenthal is the Founder and Executive Director of 205 Sports, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing coaching education and player development. An NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), he also holds the UEFA B License, a Master Coach Diploma from United Soccer Coaches, and a Master’s in Recreational Sports (Soccer Coaching) from Ohio University. His coaching career spans roles as Executive Director of AF Monterey, Girls Varsity Head Coach at Seaside High School and Dublin High School, and Assistant Coach for Men’s Soccer at Monterey Peninsula College, along with deep all-club experience including leadership positions with Dublin United.
Before dedicating himself to the soccer world, Scott enjoyed a successful 31-year career in Silicon Valley, specializing in distributed systems and operating/storage technologies. A UC Berkeley graduate in Computer Science, he holds 16 patents in networking and storage technologies. Off the field, he’s passionate about indoor rowing and bodyweight training—melding technical precision with high-performance principles both in sport and technology.
